Report: Trump’s Inaugural Committee Raises Record Breaking $170M

Companies and executives appear to be hoping to curry favor with President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to take office later this month.

Citing a lack of seats at the VIP event, some donors took the unusual step of offering to donate as much as $1 million without receiving anything in return. A seat at the inaugural address, tickets to a lavish ball, or access to other events are usually the main reasons major donors write checks. Inauguration events are a critical time for the lobbying industry, attracting donations from corporations and wealthy donors eager to gain influence or make amends with the new administration.

Those lucky enough to donate before tickets run out will receive six tickets for each of the six events. One of the events will reportedly be a “Canderite Dinner” with President Trump and Melania Trump on January 19th. The second event will reportedly be a dinner with Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and his wife.
