Trump on God’s Support in War with Iran
During a press conference Monday, President Donald Trump was asked whether he believes God is on the side of the U.S. in its conflict with Iran. This question came after he shared several posts on Truth Social, including one about American service members struggling behind enemy lines and a warning to Iran related to the Strait of Hormuz. In his posts, he expressed sentiments like “Glory be to God!” and “Praise be to Allah.”
The question from a Washington Post reporter began, “You said God be glorified in this conflict. Do you believe that God supports America’s actions in this war?”
Trump responded, “I believe so, because God is good.” He added that God wants to see everyone valued and expressed his disdain for the ongoing violence. “I don’t like what’s going on. Everyone says I’m fun, I’m not having fun. I’m not having fun,” he remarked.
He pointed out his actions regarding international conflicts as an illustration of his motives. “I don’t like to see people killed. I ended eight wars. No one else did that,” he claimed. He also mentioned how a Nobel Prize winner once told him, “This is ridiculous. They gave me the Nobel Prize and President Trump ended eight wars.”
Throughout his tenure, Trump has brokered multiple peace agreements globally, including initiatives to ease tensions between India and Pakistan. He cited an instance where Pakistan’s prime minister claimed that these efforts saved “30 million to 50 million lives,” and noted he felt “much happier” about these results than with the current situation in Iran. “That makes me very happy,” he added.
To wrap up, Trump mentioned there was still “one more thing to finish,” likely alluding to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which remains unresolved despite his administration’s attempts over the past year.
