Nick Shirley Exposes Day Care Fraud in Minnesota
Nick Shirley, a 23-year-old conservative YouTuber and independent journalist, made headlines in late December 2025 after releasing a viral 43-minute video titled “Investigating Minnesota’s Billion Dollar Fraud Scandal.” In this video, he explored several child care facilities in Minneapolis, predominantly operated by Somali individuals, and alleged that many were either vacant or inactive, despite receiving significant federal and state funding.
His footage, which displayed locked doors and unlit windows, along with a conspicuous absence of children during his visits, raised alarms across the nation. This led to heightened scrutiny, a federal inquiry involving the FBI and DHS, a temporary cessation of child care funding in Minnesota—and briefly nationwide. One notable political consequence was Governor Tim Walz (D) retracting his re-election campaign.
In a recent episode of “The Glenn Beck Show,” Shirley shared that the issues he uncovered were just the tip of the iceberg. He expressed a need for further investigations, stating that if such large sums were allocated to these facilities, the government should have been aware of the mismanagement.
Beck mentioned that recent developments have revealed involvement from Somalia’s ambassador to the United Nations, indicating a broader connection to the ongoing fraud.
Shirley hinted at a more significant cover-up, suggesting that Walz’s exit might be an attempt to evade deeper scrutiny surrounding the fraud allegations. He also pointed out that the Department of Homeland Security was involved in dispersing funds to officials in the Minnesota capital that warrants investigation.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), a known proponent of child care funding, is among those he believes require immediate examination. Shirley highlighted her connection to the “Quality Learning Center,” which has drawn criticism over its misspelling of “Learning” in its name. His video footage revealed a nearly empty parking lot and locked doors, raising questions about its funding, given its licensing for numerous children.
Another individual Shirley flagged for investigation was Senator Omar Fateh, who reportedly obtained support through potentially corrupt methods during the Minneapolis mayoral election but later faced allegations of voting fraud.
“My brother-in-law was in charge of a daycare that pulled in $2 million, but due to multiple violations, it was ultimately shut down. That same person aimed to run for mayor,” Shirley stated. He reinforced that many involved are aware of the fraudulent activities happening around them.
“Someone had to be complicit. You can’t have that much money without many people being in the know,” Beck concurred.
