Republican Representatives to Propose Legislation to Commemorate Charlie Kirk on Silver Dollar Coins

New Legislation Proposed to Honor Charlie Kirk

Two Republican representatives are set to introduce a bill recognizing Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, by placing his likeness on thousands of silver dollar coins.

Rep. August Pfluger from Texas and ABE Hamadeh of Arizona discussed their intent to launch this legislation later this week. The proposal would direct Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to feature Kirk’s image on one side of the coin, while the opposite side would bear the inscription, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

As reported, the ultimate design of the coin will be determined by Bessent and former President Donald Trump, with Kirk’s full name and the year “2026” engraved on it.

Hamadeh emphasized that Kirk dedicated significant time, energy, and resources to championing America’s future, asserting that honoring his contributions is essential.

A tweet from Fox News reporter Lix Elkind included an image of the proposed legislation, termed the “Charlie Kirk Memorial Coin Act.”

Pfluger noted Kirk’s influence, describing him as a “conservative Titan” whose impact on many Americans warrants recognition among the nation’s prominent leaders.

Interestingly, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, U.S. currency has traditionally featured only deceased individuals since a law was enacted in 1866 to prevent the rise of perceived monarchies.

This new legislative move comes in light of Kirk’s recent assassination while participating in a Q&A session at Utah Valley University on September 10th. Following this tragic event, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution condemning the act and celebrating Kirk’s legacy.
