Republican Senators Claim We Must Act as a Counter to Trump’s Excesses

During an appearance on CNN’s “sources,” Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) stated that some Republicans are acknowledging the need for Congress to act as a check on President Donald Trump’s executive actions.

“Lately, it seems like there’s a bit of a reward for executives, especially with many provisions on the table. I’ve found some Republicans willing to join me on tariffs,” Kaine noted.

He added, “In just 100 days, President Trump managed to gain control of one of the world’s strongest economies, which feels like a reckless move. Now, there are numerous warning signals and concerns about his subsequent actions, particularly his disregard for Supreme Court rulings.”

Kaine mentioned, “I’ve managed to introduce some bills in the Senate recently, and it’s encouraging to see some Republicans stand up as well. Absolutely, you’re correct about Article I Chapter being an instance of overreaching enforcement. We really need to prioritize programs that matter to most people, like Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security.”
