Republican state senator arrested on suspicion of soliciting 16-year-old for sex

The Bloomington Police Department said a secret agent pretending to be a 16-year-old girl was proposed by 40-year-old state senator Justin Aichon of Grand Rapids. Aichon is said to have agreed to meet someone she believed to be a female minor on Monday.

A Minnesota Senate Republican called for Acorn to step down after a heinous allegation.

“We are shocked by these reports and this alleged conduct calls for an immediate resignation,” the statement read. “Justin has a difficult path and needs to focus on his family.”

Acorn was a state senator for nine years. He made the headline when he proposed a law to make “Trump Mad Syndrome” mentally ill. He is married to four children.
