Republican Supported by Trump Joins Race Against Thomas Massie

Ed Gallane Launches Campaign Against Rep. Thomas Massie in Kentucky

Ed Gallane has officially kicked off his campaign to challenge U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) in the Republican primary, a move that marks a significant moment in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District.

Gallane, clearly aligning himself with President Trump’s America First policies, stated, “I have dedicated my life to serving my country, and I am ready to answer that call again.” He emphasized that this district strongly supports Trump and, in his view, the president needs advocates in Congress rather than hurdles. “I will defeat Thomas Massie, stand shoulder to shoulder with President Trump, and deliver the America First results that Kentuckians voted for,” he added.

According to reports, President Trump encouraged Gallane to run against Massie, expressing his “full and complete support” for his candidacy in a post shared on Truth Social. Trump, expressing strong disapproval of Massie, labeled him “third rate” and a “weak, pathetic lino,” insisting he should be removed from office “as soon as possible.”

In backing Gallane, Trump referred to him as a “true America First Patriot,” highlighting Gallane’s military background as a Navy SEAL and Army Ranger, and mentioning his family’s deep roots in Kentucky’s agricultural scene. Gallane’s campaign notes that his family has been farming in the state for over a century, with significant contributions such as the state’s largest dairy farm.

With a notable military career, Gallane served for three decades, rising to captain and multiple deployments with SEAL Team 6, earning commendations for his leadership and bravery.

In a direct attack on Massie’s voting history, Gallane pointed out, “Thomas Massie poses one of the biggest obstacles to President Trump’s America First agenda.” He criticized Massie’s votes against Trump’s initiatives, such as tax cuts and border security funding, suggesting that Kentuckians deserve representation that aligns with Trump’s vision.

Massie’s campaign quickly responded to Gallane’s announcement by seeking donations, as he prepares for what could be a competitive race ahead.
