Latest vote In deep red Montana, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy is leading incumbent Democrat Jon Tester by just 3 points.
“A recent survey of likely general election voters in Montana finds that the state continues to vote Republican and support President Trump,” pollster Fabrizio Lee wrote. “And the Senate race remains statistically close, despite Jon Tester’s deep pockets and incumbency advantage.”
“When asked whether they would vote for the Republican or Democrat in the Senate elections, voters chose the Republican candidate by a double-digit margin, 52% to 40%, with 8% undecided,” the pollster added. “Donald Trump outperformed expectations in the popular vote and beat Biden by an even larger margin in the presidential election, 54% to 36%, with 10% undecided.”
In the overall poll that includes Libertarian candidate Syd Dowd, Sheehy leads 46% to 43%. In head-to-head races, they’re tied at 48%.
This is an internal Republican poll conducted among 500 voters from June 3rd to 5th.
More recent voteA mid-June poll by Public Opinion Strategies put his approval rating at 46 percent.
a vote A March poll by JL Partners also gave Republican challenger Sheehy a three-point lead, 48% to 45%.
Another March vote The highly anticipated and important U.S. Senate election hillEmerson showed Democrats leading by two points, 44 percent to 42 percent.

Overall, this still looks like a race that no one can predict.
Montana is important because the results will determine who will run the 51 seats in the U.S. Senate next year. Currently, RealClearPolitics shows 49 seats held by Republicans and 43 by Democrats. Montana, Texas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Nevada remain close races.
With Democrat Joe Manchin finally retiring, Republicans would have no problem winning West Virginia, but it’s already in the safe 49 states.
That means Republicans’ best chance of gaining control of the U.S. Senate is in Texas, where incumbent Republican Ted Cruz currently sits. Take the lead And Montana is a naturally Republican state, where Democrat Tester is persevering against the odds (as Manchin did in West Virginia).
If Trump is re-elected in November, control of the U.S. Senate will be crucial not only for administration but also for judicial branch appointments.
If Trump wins the election in November, the Democrats will be in an uproar like they’ve never been before. What we saw in 2016 will be nothing compared to what’s to come, so don’t be surprised if Senate Democrats reject all of Trump’s appointments. The maneuvering, complacency and obstruction will be off the charts.
A win in the U.S. Senate will be crucial to Trump’s continued rule, and hopefully Montana will come to its senses in the next four months.
