Former Manhattan investor Howard Rubin was known for dining with a group of blonde women at a restaurant near Central Park, often described as “revolving doors.” According to the restaurant manager, he frequented the spot at least weekly, if not more often.
A longtime staff member noted that Rubin always had a distinctive group with him. “He seemed to pay for their looks—boobs, butts, and faces… they were all blondes,” she commented, adding that the women had a strikingly similar appearance.
Rubin’s assistant, Jennifer Powers, has also been charged with sex trafficking, facing up to 15 years in prison. The eatery, located near the Metropolitan Tower on West 57th Avenue, was where Rubin reportedly held gatherings, with prosecutors alleging he was arrested in Connecticut while managing illicit activities.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn claims that from 2009 to 2019, Rubin, often referred to as “Howie,” lured numerous women to New York City. He even documented certain sexual encounters with Powers.
Additionally, Rubin is facing lawsuits filed by several victims in Brooklyn Federal Court, including Atlanta model Emma Hopper, who has alleged past sexual abuse against him since initial claims appeared in 2017.
One restaurant worker described Rubin as “slimy” and mentioned how the former hostess had reached out following his arrest. “His bills were quite large,” the employee recalled, noting an older woman who seemed to escort someone for him, which likely increased costs during their visits.
Rubin has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. Both he and Powers plan to appear in court after a significant time away.
