The 75-year-old retired detective was shot dead by his son while fighting at his Long Island home Wednesday morning, officials said.
Christopher Miller, 43, is said to have blown up his father (former detective John Jack Miller, a detective from Suffolk County Police Department) many times.
The mayhem unfolded when young Miller returned home after being released from a local hospital after a car accident on Monday, News 12 Long Island.

His father had not heard of him and reported that he had gone missing before he was bleeding.
The son “moved home with his father after his recent divorce,” said eu, during Kevin Breyer of the Suffolk County Police Department at the scene.
After the fatal shooting, Christopher Miller ran to hide a shed near Seamanneck Road and called 911 the horrifying homeowner.
Responding, the officer took him to his house near Bruno Lane and Andover Drive, where they found his father dead in a pool of blood.
Police arrested Christopher Miller and charged him with murder.
He was taken to hospital for injuries from a crash, officers said.
His arrest is pending at a later date.
Members of the Miller family declined to comment when they called Wednesday night.
