Revitalize college education: Trump is ‘bold enough’ to take on progressive universities

Taxpayer funding for anti-American sentiments in private institutions has been a longstanding issue, but it seems the Trump administration has finally taken action to address it.

Inez Stepman, a senior policy and legal analyst with the Independent Women’s Forum, highlighted on “Blaze News Tonight” that institutions like Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania are among the biggest culprits.

“For decades, these universities have banked on taxpayer dollars, and while they received significant federal funding, there was an expectation that they would adhere to federal civil rights laws,” Stepman stated.

She went on to discuss the current administration’s focus on policies that prohibit racial discrimination, indicating a willingness to scrutinize practices in universities that may be discriminatory against various groups, including Jewish students.

Savage chimed in with concern, asking whether real action would be taken to halt federal fundraising or if it would merely result in a symbolic rebuke, similar to past experiences.

Stepman expressed confidence that the administration would follow through, noting that this could be a transformative period for university funding. “It feels like we’re in a stage of resistance from colleges. They may need to operate entirely independently,” she suggested.

However, many universities, particularly those not in the Ivy League, might need to rethink their funding models to continue attracting federal grants. “I see this as a turning point for the education system,” Stepman added, expressing hope for the changes ahead.
