Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. rode waves with surfing legend Kelly Slater on his birthday while campaigning in Hawaii.
Kennedy posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) of him surfing with Slater, surf rock music playing in the background.
“The best birthday present ever: Riding the waves with an 11-time world surfing champion [Slater] on the north shore at Puaena Point,” Kennedy said. I wrote it on Wednesday.

Kennedy made the post during a visit to the Aloha State where he held a rally in the run-up to the presidential election.
The independent candidate is challenging President Biden and the eventual Republican presidential nominee for the Oval Office.
Mr. Kennedy has toured the country and the media on his campaign, garnering support from several celebrities.
Rock and roll legend Eric Clapton raised a whopping $2.2 million for Kennedy at a Los Angeles fundraiser in September, the campaign announced.

The Kennedy campaign announced that it had raised $1 million, with the remaining $1.2 million going to a political action committee supporting the Democratic Party's presidential campaign.

In November, three former professional athletes announced their support for Kennedy in his bid to win the White House.
NBA legend and 1992 “Dream Team” Olympian John Stockton, Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame member Ken Ruttegers, and three-time North American enduro mountain bike champion Kyle Warner. all support Kennedy as a presidential candidate.

The athletes said they liked Kennedy's jib, and all three cited the independent candidate's integrity, honesty and openness to policy conversations as reasons for supporting him.

Stockton said he believes Kennedy was “put on this earth for this moment” and that “he and his leadership are truly needed.”
“These positions require very smart people with integrity. [is] People off the charts have the stamina and strength to speak up and be leaders 24/7, not just once in a while or in moments,” Stockton said.
