Ricki Lake’s Transformation: Weight Loss and Cosmetic Surgery

Ricki Lake has been on quite a journey recently, one that many might find inspiring. It’s been a transformational couple of years for her, and, well, the results are pretty evident.

After shedding over 30 pounds through diet and exercise, the former talk show host disclosed another significant change: she opted for a facelift. During her appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen, the 56-year-old candidly discussed her decision to undergo surgery.

Lake expressed her excitement about losing weight, stating, “I’m amazing.” It’s fascinating how weight loss can boost confidence, isn’t it? She shared that her appearance had changed dramatically, not just through weight loss, but also thanks to her facelift.

Cohen commended Lake for how great she looked, and she opened up about her past experiences with hair removal. She mentioned committing to a more natural look after shaving her head six years ago.

“I had it too, and I’ll tell you about that,” Lake remarked during the interview. As Cohen continued lavishing her with compliments, she emphasized her jawline by raising her hands under her chin, a gesture that felt both playful and genuine.

In the context of weight loss, Lake said she had rejected Ozempic, a medication often prescribed for weight management. She felt compelled to prove the doctors wrong when they insisted she wouldn’t succeed without it. It’s interesting, though, how motivations can shift; sometimes they stem from wanting to defy expectations.

“I think it’s the best facelift I’ve ever seen,” Lake said, praising her surgeon, Dr. Allen Fuurad, for his remarkable skills. She radiated enthusiasm, noting that she felt incredible post-surgery and emphasized her commitment to transparency about cosmetic procedures. “I love being able to talk about it. I’ve always been upfront, and I wish there wasn’t a stigma attached to it,” she added, which I find really refreshing.

It’s noteworthy how open she is about her experiences. She recounted her weight-loss journey, revealing she had refused Ozempic, even when doctors advised it. “Doctors were pushing it for people who were overweight,” she recounted during an interview, asserting her desire to take the challenge head-on. There’s a certain strength in wanting to prove skeptics wrong, don’t you think?

Lake shared that she feels better than ever, both physically and mentally. Along with her husband, Ross Burningham, she embarked on this journey together. They started their weight loss efforts in the fall of 2023, with Lake adopting intermittent fasting and trying out a keto diet. They even took up Pilates! It’s clear they’re in this together; Burningham reportedly lost over 40 pounds too.

It’s heartening to see both of them thriving post-transformation. They tied the knot in January 2022, signaling a harmonious partnership in health as well as in life.
