Rihanna involved in reported drive-by shooting at her home in Beverly Hills

Last weekend, Rihanna faced a frightening incident when a drive-by shooting occurred at her home in Beverly Hills. According to the Los Angeles police, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, allegedly fired several shots at the singer’s residence using a semi-automatic rifle. Ortiz was charged with attempted murder on Tuesday and may face life in prison if found guilty.

Following the shooting, Ortiz’s social media posts revealed a troubling insight into some intense celebrity fandom. Her posts included direct messages to Rihanna, demanding a response and expressing frustration about feeling ignored. In one December 20 post, she stated, “I’m already done with Rihanna,” before mentioning another celebrity.

Interestingly, Ortiz seems to have an active online presence, hosting daily prayers on her YouTube channel and even discussing spiritual warfare in her videos. She indicated a belief that there are those who wish her harm and seemingly referenced Rihanna in this context, claiming that there are forces that want to destroy beauty.

With charges against Ortiz totaling one count of attempted murder, ten counts of felony assault with a semi-automatic weapon, and three counts of felony shooting into occupied dwellings, her situation looks quite dire. The bail has been set at an astonishing $1.875 million, which is quite a sum considering the seriousness of the accusations. If convicted, legal experts say she could be facing life behind bars.

The urgency of this case was underscored by Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman, who emphasized the dangers posed by gunfire in populated areas, stating that such actions “will be prosecuted fully.” Thankfully, there were no injuries reported in this incident, which often isn’t the case in similar situations involving celebrities.

This kind of unsettling behavior isn’t new in Hollywood. Other stars like Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber have dealt with their own troubling experiences with fans. For instance, Grande recently faced a chaotic moment at the premiere of *Wicked* when a fan jumped a barricade and rushed toward her, prompting quick intervention from her co-stars.

Grande and Bieber have both spoken about the invasive nature of celebrity culture, noting that it can often cross into dangerous territory. Over the years, Bieber has been open about feeling uncomfortable with fans waiting for him outside his home, expressing how inappropriate it feels to be watched in such a personal space. In retrospect, it seems there’s an alarming trend regarding celebrity safety, with some celebrities experiencing stalkers or unwelcome visitors on a disturbing scale.

Recently, Taylor Swift also had to contend with stalkers, facing a situation where a man made menacing statements at her home. Such patterns reveal that the line between admiration and obsession can sometimes blur, with serious consequences. As the world becomes more connected, the need for maintaining boundaries—and ensuring personal safety—grow more critical for those in the public eye.
