RNC Chair Suggests Investigating James Comey for ’86 47′ Post

Investigation Suggested for James Comey’s Recent Post

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley believes there should be an inquiry into former FBI Director James Comey’s recent Instagram post, referred to as “86 47.”

Last week, it was noted by various sources that Comey had deleted this particular post. Whatley’s comments came during an interview with Fox News, where he stated that Comey should at least be subjected to investigation. However, he dismissed National Intelligence Director Tarsi Gabbard’s suggestion that Comey should be imprisoned.

Whatley expressed his belief that the post was intentional, implying that Comey understood the implications of what he was saying.

Interestingly, while “86” may not directly imply violence—its origins trace back to restaurant terminology—critics quickly interpreted the post as suggestive of violence, prompting Comey to take it down.

Comey mentioned that he previously posted photos of shells from a beach walk and thought of his message as political, not linked to any violent connotations.

Kash Patel, the current FBI director, acknowledged that the Bureau had noted the post and was in communication with the Secret Service regarding it.

He remarked about a recent tweet directed at President Trump by Comey, indicating ongoing discussions with the Secret Service and ensuring necessary FBI support.

The Director of the Department of Homeland Security, Christie Noem, went as far as accusing Comey of calling for the President’s assassination in her remarks on social media. She labeled his comments as disgraceful.

In a separate interview, Tulsi Gabbard conveyed significant concern for the President’s safety, referencing past attempts on his life. She emphasized that Comey should be held accountable for his provocative statement.
