Delegates and guests attending the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Wisconsin are speculating about President Biden’s political future amid reports that he is close to withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race.
Fox News Digital spoke with several Republican National Convention attendees outside the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, where the convention is being held, and most felt that while Biden will ultimately give up on reelection, it won’t be a big deal once the votes are finally counted.
“I think [former President] “Trump is going to crush whoever they put forward,” one attendee said, adding that Biden seemed “on his way out.”

“I don’t think it matters much. No matter who they have, I think their bench is shallow and weak right now.”
Another attendee told Fox that he predicted months ago that Biden would not become the Democratic presidential nominee, and felt that prediction had been proven correct.
“That may have changed a little bit on Saturday, but I doubt it,” he said, referring to the assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. “The globalists have a mission. They don’t care about Joe Biden anymore… I don’t think it matters who runs. I don’t think he has a chance at this point to win a legitimate election.”

While some expected Biden to drop out, others expressed hope that he would continue to run and believed the Democratic Party could not afford to remove him from the ticket with the election so close.
“They bet on Trump and they keep telling us how far he’s ahead in the polls so they need to keep supporting him. I think it would be disastrous for them to change course now,” she said.
“I think he understands, and I think his peers understand, that he needs to step down, so he will. I have no idea who will take his place. Hopefully it’s not Kamala, but I have no idea,” another person said.

“It’s totally fine” if Vice President Kamala Harris is the nominee, or California Sen. Gavin Newsom or former first lady Michelle Obama, one attendee said. “I think people are starting to realize that it’s not the people’s party anymore, so it doesn’t matter.”
Attendees also unanimously praised Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, calling him “empathetic,” “energetic” and “relatable” after his convention speech on Wednesday.

Reuters reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Biden is currently “reflecting introspection” about the future of his presidential candidacy, while NBC News reported that a source close to the president said “the end is near.”
The report comes after The Washington Post previously reported that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Biden that a loss would lead to further Republican control of the House. The Post also reported that former President Barack Obama told allies that Biden should reconsider running.
