Rob Gronkowski Weighs in on Chiefs’ Recent Struggles

NFL star Rob Gronkowski recently expressed his thoughts on the Kansas City Chiefs, suggesting that their time at the top may be coming to an end. With a successful career that includes four Super Bowl victories, Gronkowski certainly knows a thing or two about what it takes to win. He believes that the Philadelphia Eagles have figured out a winning strategy against the Mahomes-led team.

After a significant victory over the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl LIX, Gronkowski certainly has his reasons to feel accomplished. In fact, his team showcased impressive prowess throughout that game.

“The Philadelphia Eagles opened the lock,” he noted in a recent interview. It’s a bold statement, but he seems convinced that they have mastered the art of defeating the Chiefs.

The 2025 season kicked off with the Chiefs facing their AFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, in São Paulo, Brazil. Unfortunately for Kansas City, they experienced back-to-back losses, including a Super Bowl defeat back in February. Justin Herbert had a standout performance, leading the Chargers to a 27-21 win.

During the game, some tension was evident on the sidelines when defensive players Chris Jones and Stardrey Trunkil appeared to be heated during a timeout. This kind of situation can hint at underlying issues, which Gronkowski highlighted.

“What surprised me is that when they start to struggle, it’s like the blame game kicks in,” he explained. “You can see them start to point fingers, and that’s not a good sign for a team.”

The Chiefs have a chance to turn things around during their home opener this Sunday, as they prepare to face the Eagles again in a highly anticipated rematch. This game is being billed as “America’s Game of the Week” on Fox.

I mean, it’s clear that Philadelphia handled Dallas nicely, winning 24-20 in their opener. Jalen Hurts rushed for two touchdowns, and Saquon Barkley, the 2024 offensive player of the year, made his mark as well.

It’ll be fascinating to see how the strategy unfolds this time around; the Eagles clearly had a game plan that worked against Mahomes before. Both coaches have a lot to prove, and fans are certainly buzzing with anticipation.
