Exclusive – When “Goonies” actor Robert Davie was asked about a sequel to a cult classic from the 1980s, he shared some concerns about whether he would be called to revive the character Jake Fratelli.

The 1985 adventure comedy is loved today, following a group of children discovering maps of hidden treasures. Davi's Fratelli is Mama Fratelli's criminal son and brother Francis and sloth. He has some memorable scenes in the film. For example, include when he tries to sing an Italian opera. Fans of the original were excited this week when it seemed like a new report would confirm that the sequel was now straight ahead.

But Davi's politics could complicate things, he suggested in a recent interview with Fox News Digital. He has been one of Hollywood's outspoken conservatives in recent years, and is just as candid as Davi tells him he could potentially sacrifice the “Goonies 2” cast spot.

“I see,” he told Fox Digital. “We'll see if they'll bring back Jake Fratelli or if they'll somehow bring back the Fratelli brothers. I'd like to be part of it.'I think it's beyond cult status. ”

Fans of the film are still approaching him today, he said he was worried about how his conservatism could work against him in the future of the franchise.

“And the funny part about that is, director Dick Donner said when we did the film, he told me, 'This is going to be like the Wizard of Oz.' Davi added. “And it's coming up to a lot of people and I'm telling you how much they love 'goonies' and how much they love Jake Fratelli because they have songs there. It will do it. I hope I'm part of it.

Davi explained that not receiving a call is a concern because it happened before.

“I'm worried about that, yes,” he said. “It's because it happened in other issues, other projects. And that's exactly what I believe in freedom of speech and isn't always politically correct.”

Dhabi, who said he was friendly with all three actors, welcomed the committee.

“And I think it's great to have a committee,” he said. “Of course I was frustrated for my own selfish reasons, because of course I wanted something like that. And I would have had a committee in Hollywood, and I would have to have that administration and campaign. We also mentioned that to some of them. We're losing so much business in Hollywood, so it's about bringing back business. That's true.”
