Claim: Joe Biden’s new campaign ad, narrated by Hollywood star Robert De Niro, revives the left’s Trump “genocide” hoax. The 30-second ad features footage of former President Donald Trump saying, “If I don’t get elected, there will be a genocide.”
In the commercial, the word “Bloodbath” appears in large font above the clip.
verdict: It’s misleading and false.
The footage, taken out of context from a March rally in Ohio, saw Trump use the word “catastrophe” to describe the US auto industry and the wider economy if he is not elected president in November.
Despite numerous media outlets denouncing the hoax, Biden continues to use the smears in an attempt to manipulate voters into thinking Trump was calling for physical violence.

The ad also resurrects the left-wing “bleach” hoax, falsely claiming that then-President Donald Trump encouraged “drinking bleach” during the coronavirus pandemic.
President Trump has never said people should “drink bleach.” During a 2020 press conference, President Trump suggested the possibility of using ultraviolet light and disinfectants to fight the COVID-19 virus inside the body. He did not mention the word “bleach.”
Robert De Niro is stepping up his anti-Trump activism ahead of the November election.
During a recent appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel late-night show, the actor called Trump a “malignant narcissist” and a “sociopsychopath.”
Speaking on Bill Maher’s HBO show, De Niro panicked about the possibility of Trump winning in November and retaking the White House, predicting that Trump “will come looking for me.”
