Robert McIntyre Makes Waves Again on Social Media
Robert McIntyre is back in the spotlight, this time for what he shared online. After grabbing attention at the Masters for his middle finger gesture during a tough round at Augusta National, he surprised followers by posting an AI-generated image of a gnome mimicking that very gesture on his Instagram story.
The image features McIntyre dressed in the same outfit he wore during his notable meltdown on the first day of the tournament.
During that round, emotions ran high for McIntyre as he hit the water twice on the 15th hole and, with cameras rolling, raised his middle finger. He was also seen expressing frustration on the 14th and 17th holes, unleashing a string of expletives on the back nine.
Ultimately, he finished tied for 82nd position at 8 over par, opting not to engage with media after his round.
Although the Masters has yet to comment on any disciplinary action, reports suggest that McIntyre was indeed reprimanded by tournament officials.
The following day, McIntyre improved slightly with a 1-under 71, but he still failed to make the cut, finishing at 7 over. Yet again, he left Augusta National quickly, without addressing reporters.
Known for his passionate demeanor on the golf course, he was previously caught on a microphone during the Valero Texas Open making comments that reflected his fiery personality.
Before heading into the Masters, McIntyre discussed his instincts on the course, stating that he would not change his reactions just because someone was watching. “It’s a live sport,” he mentioned, “and I’m going to react how I want to react.”
He added that while he enjoys interacting with fans, when it comes to competing, he gives it his all.
