As we mark the 10th anniversary of Robin Williams’ death, his daughter, Zelda Williams, wants people to be clear about a few things.
On X, she retweeted a post that included an image of her father with a monkey on his shoulder.
The account that shared the photo claimed it was the last photograph of Williams, taken just days before her shocking death by suicide in 2014, at the age of 63.
“I’ve noticed this nonsense being spread that is probably written by an AI. My dad doesn’t have a pet monkey and no one should. If you are interested in owning one please support your local exotic animal rescue instead,” Zelda Williams wrote.

Zelda wrote about her own grief, “On the anniversary of my dad’s death, there’s a high chance that completely false or poorly researched posts will go viral, so you might as well just assume they’re all bullshit (which they usually are). Ignore the creepy robots trying to get clicks and do something nice for yourself instead, which I absolutely will.”
