Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Urges Trump Voters to Stay Away from Their Show
The alternative rock band Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, known for their hit “Face Down,” has made it clear that they do not want Trump supporters attending their show “Forever.” In a recent Instagram video, lead singer Ronnie Winter expressed his feelings on the matter, declaring that those who voted for Trump deserve enduring social ostracism and shame, implying that their actions were a crime against him.
Winter referenced his Christian beliefs, even as he acknowledged that Jesus often preached about grace, mercy, and forgiveness—values that he feels Trump voters disregard. “If you vote for Donald Trump, don’t come to my show. Forever, it’s not just the last four years,” he stated in the video. He criticized what he termed “wokeness” in the discourse surrounding the band and asserted that attendees would be exposed to messages of acceptance, harmony, and the actual teachings of Jesus.
Moreover, he noted that since aligning himself with progressive sentiments in 2020, he has faced backlash from some conservative fans. “I’m just doing a little bit of a PSA here,” Winter said. “I thought I was pretty clear about my stance back then.” He added that he hasn’t deleted any content related to the “Stay Woke Campaign” from his social media, suggesting that the message remains strong. Winter elaborated on the awakening experience, suggesting that once you’re awake, you cannot fall back asleep—not that anything had fundamentally changed since those discussions began.
Winter continued by identifying himself as someone who “actually” follows the teachings of Jesus, and urged those who voted for Trump to reevaluate their connection to his music. “Don’t come to my show,” he insisted. “It’s not for you. That song, ‘Face Down’? It’s not your song.” His words seemed to further alienate a segment of his audience, leaving room for reflection on how public figures can navigate their beliefs and their fanbase.
