Rockies social media team pokes fun at Bill Belichick-Jordon Hudson situation

In light of their recent disheartening losses, the Colorado Rockies seem to have drawn inspiration from Jordon Hudson’s experience.

The Rockies faced a particularly harsh defeat against the Padres on Saturday, reminiscent of a lopsided football game, losing 21-0. This brought their season record to a bleak 6-33.

After such a dismal performance, there wasn’t much left to say, but the Rockies’ social media team quoted Hudson, remarking, “We’re not talking about this,” which traces back to her infamous moment during an interview with Bill Belichick on CBS Sunday Morning.

The Rockies referenced Hudson’s viral incident, where she unexpectedly interrupted a discussion with Belichick, diverting the conversation from how they met.

Much like Hudson, the Rockies have been the punchline of numerous jokes lately. The team’s struggles on the field have drawn attention, but so has the unusual relationship between Hudson, 24, and the 73-year-old head football coach at UNC, making headlines in its own right.

The Rockies might have gained some social media credit for their playful posts, but it doesn’t fully mask their ongoing struggles.

Following the humiliating 21-0 loss, they did manage a 9-3 victory against the Padres on Sunday. However, neither the win nor the light-hearted trolling brought any reprieve for manager Bud Black or bench coach Mike LeDmond, whose positions remained in jeopardy.

Bud Black was let go from his role as Rockies manager on Sunday evening. This season, the Rockies have come to symbolize a struggling team within the MLB and have faced tough times for a while now.

Colorado hasn’t reached the playoffs since 2018, and they haven’t won more than 74 games in a season since then. Black had been managing the team since 2017.

On Sunday, Belichick showed his support for Hudson at the Miss Maine America pageant, where she placed third. The two were spotted together, hand in hand, leaving the event.
