Roki Sasaki’s Japanese toilet request to Dodgers that was ‘factor’ in him signing

Ball players may be quite obsessed with what they want in the clubhouse, and for the Dodgers, they won’t fall off the table, including changing the toilet design to plead for potential players.

After Sasaki Castle suggested that having a Japanese-style toilet would help shake up decisions about where to sign the site, the Dodgers went outside and made changes amid a $100 million renovation of the team’s clubhouse.

This topic came up in a meeting with Sasaki and team officials, including the team’s president and CEO Stan Kasten.

“In our first meeting with Roki, we were talking to him about the ongoing projects to upgrade our clubhouse and facilities.” Kasten said to the OC register.. “We were talking to him about all the amenities we added. “We have this and this and this,” and he asked, “Are you going to have a Japanese-style toilet?” ”

Japanese toilets often include bidet functions, remote controls, heated seats and automatic lids among other advanced features.

Sasaki later admitted that the proposal was a little more on his cheek, but the pitcher realized that the team wanted to listen to him and that was “a definite factor” in his participation in the LA team.

“I did it. You got it,” Kasten recalled telling Sasaki during the meeting. “What I got from the players was a good idea.”

Sasaki signed with the Dodgers and posted a 3.55 ERA in six starts for Los Angeles in his first season in the major leagues.

He tallied 20 strikeouts in 25 innings and has 1.421 whips.

During his latest outing, Sasaki hit the fourth inning, but on Saturday he won the Pirates 8-4 and allowed three runs with five hits.

The Dodgers signed Sasaki in January, beating the Padres and Blue Jays for the service of Japanese pitchers with a $6.5 million signature bonus. The Mets and Yankees also made the pitch, but they weren’t one of the finalists.
