According to documents filed Thursday in Nevada, the suit was filed in connection with a wrongful death lawsuit filed in 1997 by Goldman’s parents, Fred and Sharon.
A civil jury found Simpson responsible for the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Goldman, and ordered him to pay millions of dollars in damages.
Meanwhile, Fred claims that the Simpson estate owes his family a total of approximately $117,041,675 due to California courts renewing the 1997 judgment three times (in 2006, 2015, and 2022). The claim was subsequently increased to $96.3 million in 2022, and has since accrued $20.6 million in interest.
“Commencing July 25, 2024, the claim amount will accrue interest in the amount of $26,402.3630 per day until paid,” the document states.
Fred previously said in 2019 that he and his wife had only recovered a small portion of the tens of millions of dollars Simpson was ordered to pay.
“It wasn’t about money, it was about justice,” he said at the time.
Nicole, 35, and Ron, 25, were found stabbed to death outside their Los Angeles home in 1994.
On June 13th, at the restaurant where Ron worked.NumberIn November 1994, Ron attempted to return a pair of sunglasses to Nicole’s mother after she left them behind, but the following day their bodies were discovered, having been repeatedly stabbed and slashed.
Simpson was ultimately acquitted of both murders in a botched criminal trial that was dubbed the “trial of the century.”
Simpson died of cancer in April this year.
