At this point in his presidency, the only thing President Joe Biden can guarantee to the American people is that he will let them down in their time of need. Nothing makes that clearer than watching him leave Americans in combat zones over and over again.
First, we saw desperate Americans and allies begging for aid. set off Biden’s deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan led to the death of U.S. military personnel.
Once again, when the Americans were left behind Biden in Gaza in the early stages of Israel’s retaliation for the Oct. 7 terrorist attack by Hamas. In both cases, Florida Rep. Cory Mills organized rescue efforts and saved innocent Americans from almost certain death.
For the third time, Mills orchestrated a heroic rescue effort for about 30 Americans who were ordered by the Biden administration to shelter in place or evacuate on their own. While Americans were waiting for Biden, Haiti descended into death and chaos after Jimmy Chélisier’s Barbecue militant group attacked the international airport, causing all flights out of Haiti to be cancelled. I fell into it.

Mills said on Twitter that he and his team were able to save 13 more Americans who were left to the fate of the murderous organization currently ruling Haiti after the collapse of the government, which included the resignation of acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry. announced that he had been rescued. Author Mitch Albom was one of ten Americans rescued by Mills and his team on the first evacuation mission. Albom runs an orphanage called Have Face Haiti with his wife and eight other Americans. Michigan Congresswoman Lisa McClain realized that Albom and his team were desperately needed and asked Mills for help.
The rescue was not easy for the team due to violent gang activity in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, and the closure of the port where the group was located.
McClain told the Washington Post that Mills had originally planned to evacuate the group on Monday, but problems with the helicopter and difficulty finding a pilot willing to fly to Haiti forced the evacuation to be postponed until Tuesday. said that it was done. Albom issued a statement on Twitter thanking everyone involved in the rescue and adding that more Americans were still waiting to be evacuated.

Albom said on his radio show that it is clear the Biden administration will not help rescue Americans desperate to leave Haiti. “Frankly, we knew we weren’t going to get out if we waited for government help,” he says. Said.

Mills and his team displayed the ultimate heroism. This job should not have been left to veterans or military personnel. Biden had the authority to send a team of trained personnel to rescue stranded Americans, but he waived that obligation.
What’s the point of being an American anymore if you can’t expect the government to come to your rescue? With all Americans left behind, Biden’s answer is clear.
