Media Reactions to Biden’s Cancer Diagnosis
In a rather controversial turn of events, some figures on the far left reacted to former President Joe Biden’s recent announcement about his prostate cancer diagnosis. Biden revealed that he has stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, prompting criticism from those who have been vocal about his policies, particularly regarding healthcare and Israel.
Former Washington Post columnist Taylor Lorenz expressed a particularly harsh sentiment on social media, stating, “Hopefully he’s shaking in hell and resting on piss.” This post included a screenshot of a separate news headline that misattributed a quote about healthcare to Biden.
Activist Sean King, known for his ties to the Black Lives Matter movement, went as far as to say he wanted Biden to “feel the pain.” He remarked, “I didn’t really care much about people who had an ‘offensive form of cancer’ about Joe Biden in my life,” adding, “I hate him. He’s a genocide monster and I hope his last day hurts.”
Left-wing streamer Hasan Piker also weighed in, characterizing Biden as a “terrible monster” and suggesting that “prostate cancer doesn’t change that.” He criticized mainstream media for allegedly sanitizing the reputations of those he views as responsible for the suffering in Palestine, referring to Biden in a negative light.
In contrast, several lawmakers and public figures from various backgrounds expressed their well-wishes to the Biden family following the announcement of his diagnosis.
