Secretary of State Marco Rubio asserts that the “only way” to conclude the war in Ukraine is by having discussions directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin, ideally alongside President Trump, whom he refers to as a “peace lover.”
Rubio expressed on Fox News with Sean Hannity that without such a meeting, progress is unlikely. He emphasized that nothing significant would occur until they came together.
He elaborated that despite previous discussions and meetings, real progress can only happen if the president is personally involved with Putin.
Currently leading a U.S. delegation in Turkey to address the ongoing conflict, Rubio praised Trump for his focus on peace. He described Trump as someone keen on stopping and preventing war.
Rubio remarked, “I don’t understand why some people criticize the president. It’s a good thing that the leader of the most powerful country aims to prevent wars and resolve ongoing conflicts.”
He concluded with a note of pride in this approach.
