Derek Richard Thomas, who was previously in a relationship with Rumer Willis, is claiming that she is obstructing his attempts to connect with their daughter, Louetta.
A recent court filing from Thursday reveals that Thomas accuses Willis, 38, of using all means available to interfere with his relationship with Louetta. He expresses that she has worked to “block and frustrate” him in this regard.
The declaration, submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, cites specific occasions where the former “DWTS” contestant purportedly hindered his access to their child.
Thomas has also dismissed Willis’ earlier claims of his drug abuse while caring for Louetta, stating, “I completely reject any allegations regarding my drug use or any behavior that endangers Louetta, as well as any failure to cooperate with or co-parent her.”
In June of last year, Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, was awarded primary physical custody of Louetta following accusations of domestic violence against Thomas.
The former couple ultimately agreed to a custody evaluation and joint custody, which included supervised visits for Thomas every other weekend, with plans to eventually allow overnight visits without supervision.
They were also mandated to partake in co-parenting counseling and use a designated communication platform for discussions about their child.
This ruling stemmed from accusations made by Rumer of “incessant domestic violence.”
In documents submitted in May, Rumer described a “persistent pattern” of severe emotional abuse occurring in front of their daughter.
She claimed Thomas engaged in consistent verbal attacks that lasted for hours and expressed feeling the need to “walk on eggshells” around him.
Furthermore, Rumer mentioned that Thomas often aimed to isolate her from friends and family, consistently labeling her a liar without reason, and frequently stating that she was a poor girlfriend.
According to her, the impact of these behaviors left Louetta “traumatized” and in tears often.
Moore, Rumer’s mother, has also supported her daughter’s accusations, recounting in court papers how Thomas seemed intent on controlling Rumer’s surroundings, including incidents where he allegedly criticized her shortly after Louetta was born.
In response, Thomas has strongly denied these claims, countering that Rumer threatened him shortly after Louetta’s birth.
The pair publicly began their relationship in 2022 before parting ways two years later. Recently, Willis shared her move from Los Angeles to Nashville.
