Comedian and podcast host Russell Brand recently reflected on his three months since converting to Christianity and the challenges of feeling like Jesus Christ is so far away. “I’ve been a Christian for three months,” he said. TikTok Videos Posted this week: “Sometimes I find it so difficult – I feel like Christ is far away. I don’t feel an intimate connection with Him.”
That being said, Brando does read the Bible aloud, especially 1 Corinthians Chapter 3: 1-3 In the New International Version, the Apostle Paul rebukes the church at Corinth for its divisions and immaturity.
“Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you, I could not speak to you as I speak to spiritual people. I had to talk to you as if you belonged to the world, as if you were infants of Christ. You had to be given milk, not solid food, because you were not yet ready for something stronger. And you are not yet ready, because you are still controlled by the sinful nature. You are jealous and quarrel with one another. Doesn’t that prove that you are controlled by the sinful nature? Aren’t you living like the people of the world?”
Brand later said he heard at church on Sunday that God continues to work even when you can’t feel his presence.
“Even when I can’t feel God, He is working in me,” Brand said. “He is guiding me to who He wants me to be.”
He then asked his viewers: “How do you deal with those times when you feel like you’re not getting any closer to Christ?”
“Surely it’s not enough to just feel good,” he added. “If you want to feel good, drink a lot of alcohol, take a lot of pills, or eat a lot of candy, at least temporarily, and that will at least provide some sort of solace to distract you.”
Brand has spoken openly about his conversion to Christianity. Baptized On the River Thames earlier this year First Holy Communion.
in Recent Interviews With Neil Oliver assigned to X, Brand says he is “in the service of Jesus Christ.”
“There’s something special about giving yourself over to Christ and saying there’s this man, this other man, this man who is fully God and fully human. But through a necessary and special metaphysical act that’s just slightly beyond the limits of rational understanding, the creator of this simulation appears in the simulation and says to us, ‘Hello, I’m God. I’m here. Here are some virtues and values,'” Brand said.
Reports say The Christian StandtBrand shared a message once uttered by author C.S. Lewis:
“C.S. Lewis talks about ‘the age of the Stoics’ … imagining that one might always be able to do what one can sometimes do. You know, sometimes you think, ‘I’m not in Russell Brand’s business anymore,'” Brand said.
“I’m in the service, I serve Jesus Christ. It’s a very powerful idea, and it keeps me going. But this parasitic nature gets me again, and I go back to selfishness. I go back to desire and longing and fear. I go back to all those limiting things.”
