Russia Launches Major Attack on Ukrainian Factories

On Sunday, Russian forces executed their most extensive air strike on Ukraine since the onset of the war, deploying a significant number of drones, decoys, and missiles.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the assault involved 810 drones and decoys, inclusive of at least 13 missiles. Ukrainian defenses managed to intercept 747 drones and four missiles.

Tragically, the attack resulted in at least two fatalities and 20 injuries in Kyiv, though comprehensive casualty figures are still pending.

Images from the capital reveal damage to government buildings and at least one residential structure.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Swilydenko commented on the incident, noting that, for the first time, a government building sustained damage, particularly to its roofs and upper floors. “We will restore the building, but we cannot bring back those whose lives have been lost,” she stated.

Emergency crews were seen working diligently to extinguish the fires caused by the attacks over the city on September 7, 2025. Notably, the building that was hit is associated with the Ukrainian Cabinet, a site that has historically been less targeted by Russian troops.

“The world must react to this destruction with action, rather than mere words,” Swilydenko insisted, advocating for intensified sanctions, especially against Russian oil and gas. The EU has notably diminished its Russian oil imports since the beginning of the war, yet the Premier highlighted that energy imports from Russia have not been entirely halted.

As this situation continues to evolve, further updates are expected.
