Russian tennis prodigy Mila Andreeva made headlines at the Australian Open by reaching the fourth round of the season's first Grand Slam tournament.

The 16-year-old defeated Bernarda Parra, No. 6 Ons Jabbar and Diane Parry, but lost in three sets to No. 9 Barbora Krajcikova. But it was Andreeva's actions in her victory over Perry that caught the attention of the tennis world.

Andreeva lost 6-1 to Perry and needed an epic comeback to win the match. She did it, winning her final two sets 6-1 and 7-6. When she returned to the game, bite marks were also seen on her arm.

British tennis star Andy Murray reacted to Andreeva's performance in 'X' and refuted comments made by commentators about her mental strength.

“Perhaps the reason she turned the match around was because of her mental strength,” Murray wrote. “Maybe she turned the game around because she's hard on herself and demands more of herself when she's losing or playing bad? She's a winner. ”

Andreeva was happy to hear that Murray was watching his match.

“To be honest, I didn't think he would make any comments after watching the game and tweeting,” she said, via GB News. “Honestly, I’ll try to print it out somehow. I don’t know, but I’ll try to frame it.

“I carry it with me everywhere. I might even put it on my wall so I can see it every day.”
