Sad news in violent assault on dedicated Trump supporter in San Diego

Memorial Day Tribute in Escondido

On Memorial Day, a gathering took place in Escondido, California, where people came together to honor the American veterans, MAGA supporters, and others who tragically lost their lives due to a brutal attack outside the House of Trump the previous week.

Police confirmed that Kelly Sheron, 69, the proprietor of the House of Cards, passed away on Sunday. Deputy District Attorney Ross Garcia mentioned that Sheron had suffered serious injuries from what appeared to be an unprovoked assault four days prior.

“Mr. Kelly was a Trump supporter, but he was a patriot to begin with,” Garcia stated, recounting an incident where “It was just a punch to the jaw. The victim fell to the floor and was then struck in the head.” A bystander who tried to intervene during the altercation also sustained injuries.

Authorities quickly identified 32-year-old Thomas Caleb Butler as the suspect and arrested him. He is facing various misdemeanor charges, including attempted first-degree murder and elder abuse likely to cause great bodily harm or death. Butler entered a not guilty plea, but prosecutors are contemplating whether to adjust the charges in light of Sheron’s death. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.

Sheron’s wife, Maria Moreno, expressed deep sorrow, saying, “My heart hurts so much.” She added, “I want my husband back. He was my partner and a beautiful man.”

Numerous friends and neighbors gathered to pay their respects to Sheron on Monday. Attendees held placards, waved flags, and laid flowers as tributes.

“Kelly supported Trump, but he was a true patriot first. He never shunned those who voiced their anti-Trump opinions,” shared his longtime friend, Jim Gilley. “He would always say, ‘They have a right to free speech, and so do I.’

Yusef Miller, representing the North County Equity and Justice Coalition, also spoke at the memorial, advocating against political violence. “No one should be harmed because of politics,” he asserted. “We might disagree politically, but we should never resort to violence.”

While Sheron’s home has long been adorned with patriotic, pro-Trump, and military-themed decorations, law enforcement has not yet confirmed the motive behind the attack.
