Sadie Robertson shares that her baby choked and lost consciousness before CPR brought her back.

Sadie Robertson recently opened up about a frightening incident involving her baby daughter, Kit, who had a choking episode that led to her briefly stopping breathing. The 28-year-old “Duck Dynasty” star shared the emotional experience in an Instagram post.

“I know it’s tough to discuss, especially on social media, but I feel it’s important to raise awareness because it can truly save lives,” she wrote. Robertson expressed gratitude for Kit’s recovery and highlighted her reliance on her family during this challenging time, as she takes a break from social media to regain her composure.

In her detailed account, she explained that Kit was in her high chair munching on a snack when she started choking. “Within seconds, I realized how serious it was. The moment she stopped breathing, my mom quickly lifted her from the high chair and handed her to me,” Robertson recounted.

“We all sprang into action, praying while my mom called 911 and I began performing CPR,” she continued. Reflecting on the intense situation, Robertson noted how instinct took over, guided by her training and faith as she worked to save her daughter.

“I’ve always wanted to be prepared for emergencies, watching videos with the hope that I’d never need that knowledge. But in that moment, it was like my body just knew what to do. I felt a divine presence guiding my actions,” she explained. Miraculously, after following baby choking protocols, Kit began coughing and breathing again just as the paramedics arrived.

The experience left both mother and daughter shaken but grateful. “My daughter and I got in the back of the ambulance, still scared but praising God,” Robertson shared.

After spending the night in the hospital for observation, Kit was soon her cheerful self again. Robertson added that her husband, Christian, pointed out a rainbow they saw on the way to the hospital, which she took as a hopeful sign.

“We were so blessed to have her back to normal so quickly, and I want to share this story to encourage others to learn how to respond in emergencies,” she urged. “We can’t control our breath or our children’s, but we have to trust God and be prepared.”

In her post, she included a touching video of Kit sleeping peacefully, signifying that everything is okay again. Robertson, who is also navigating the family dynamics of raising three young daughters with her husband, expressed how the experiences of motherhood continue to shape her and her family’s journey.
