Salon Owner Arrested for Threatening Federal Agents
A hair salon owner, known for her extreme views, has been arrested after allegedly expressing a desire to assassinate Charlie Kirk and threatening another ICE agent, as stated by federal prosecutors.
Bethany Abigail Terrill, 37, who operates Bat Cave Salon in Malden, Massachusetts, could face up to 10 years in prison for her threats against a federal officer who intervened to prevent her from apprehending an undocumented immigrant last month, according to an announcement from the Justice Department.
Authorities reported that Terrill filmed herself labeling the agents as “monsters” and “Nazis,” with all of this documented through her body camera and her personal recordings.
“Charlie Kirk is dead. We love it,” she reportedly shouted, referring to Kirk, a married father. “We’re coming for you, we’re going to kill you.”
The affidavit noted that the “belligerent” activist disregarded multiple orders to “stand back,” even after being warned about possible arrest.
When the officer attempted to detain her after hearing the threat, Terrill allegedly resisted and fought back, requiring assistance from additional agents.
Initially, she denied making any threats and directed investigators to view her video, which she claimed would clear her name; however, it reportedly captured the threat. She later partially acknowledged her statements, telling investigators, “We’re coming for you. We don’t like American Nazis,” as stated in the affidavit.
Prosecutors argued for her detention, citing concerns about her potential danger to the public.
Yet, a federal judge decided to release her on the condition that she comply with U.S. probation and pretrial services and avoid contact with law enforcement officers.
Additionally, Terrill has been ordered to attend regular mental health appointments and to refrain from consuming alcohol, as mandated by the judge.
