Sam Brown begins to close gap with incumbent Sen. Jacky Rosen in battleground Nevada

The poll results show a close race after some have expressed concern about the Republican position supporting Rosen in recent polls. Although many Republican candidates in key states had already improved against Democratic incumbents, Mr. Brown still lost to Mr. Rosen by a wide margin.

A late August CNN poll showed Mr. Rosen leading Mr. Brown by 10 points (50% to 40%). A Fox News poll from the same month showed Democrats winning even more, at 55% to their opponent's 41%.

Earlier this month, a New York Times/Siena College poll showed Mr. Rosen leading Mr. Brown 49% to 40%.

The same AARP poll that appears to be favoring Brown showed former President Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris in head-to-head races in battleground states, 49% to 47%. Compared to other candidates, Trump still leads Harris 47% to 46%.

“It was never realistic that there would be such a huge difference between the Senate races and the presidential race in these states,” said Kyle Kondik, editor-in-chief of Sabbat Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics. . “At the same time, Democratic Senate candidates received a higher percentage of votes than Ms. Harris in nearly every battleground state.”
