The closure of San Diego’s immigrant shelters is releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants into local neighborhoods.

Border Patrol is dropping off migrants at bus stops after the taxpayer-funded South Bay Community Center ran out of money and was forced to close last week.
More than 140,000 migrants have crossed the border in San Diego since October, according to CBP. Of those, 21,000 are Chinese.
The center says it is admitting 800 migrants a day and is running out of funds early.
Supervisor Jim Desmond said San Diego County can no longer afford to hemorrhage local taxpayers to deal with problems the Biden administration has created at the federal level.
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to discuss long-term plans for federally funded immigrant welcoming centers and shelters on Tuesday.
Superintendent Joel Anderson also plans to send a letter to President Biden. In it, he plans to ask Biden to temporarily close the San Diego border to give counties time and resources to deal with releasing migrants onto the streets.
