Sanders: Roberts knows ‘the danger of a president' who doesn't 'respect the Constitution'

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Tuesday that he believes John Roberts knows the “danger of the president” of the Chief Justice.

“Roberts is not that clear. I'm not a huge fan of his courts, but I think he understands. I think I understand the dangers of a president who doesn't respect the US constitution and wants more and more of his own strength.”

Sanders' comments come after Roberts pushed back a rare official statement to Trump for a federal judge's blast against his administration in a prominent deportation case.

“For over two centuries, it has been established that each is not an appropriate response to differences in opinion over judicial decisions. To that end, there is a normal appeal review process,” Roberts said in a statement Tuesday.

In an earlier post on the Truth Society, the president called US District Judge James Boasberg “a troublemaker and an agitator.”

“I'm just doing what voters wanted to do with me,” Trump posted. “This judge should be bounced each, like many of the bent judges, as I am forced to appear before!!!”

On his “sauce” appearance on Tuesday, Sanders said, Trump.[is] He is trying to infringe on Congress' constitutional liability and expenditure powers, but now he is chasing the courts. ”

“If someone is a corrupt judge, they can and should be each bullet, but not because you're giving your opinion,” the Vermont Senator added.

Hill reached out to the White House and the Supreme Court for comments.
