Saquon Barkley hurts NFL bettors by passing on easy touchdown

Saquon Barkley made the right play to win Sunday's game, but for sports bettors it was the wrong play.

With 1:10 left in the Eagles' 22-10 win over the Packers, the star running back received a handoff and Greensea appeared to be separated from his star-studded offensive line.

Barkley could have easily scored a 76-yard touchdown to put Cherry on top, but he slipped the other way, leaving thousands of bettors, especially those betting on him a touchdown-at-any-time prop. It shattered us.

The Eagles and Barkley are more concerned about their Super Bowl berths than their individual performance, which requires three more wins to reach the Super Bowl.

“Statistics don't matter. The only statistic that matters is wins,” Barkley said. pro football talk. “Honestly, I don't care whether I throw 400 yards, run 400 yards or win 3-0. I just want to win.”

While stats obviously don't matter to Barkley at this point, stats like rushing yards, catches, and touchdowns are how sports bettors make a living.

Both ESPN BET and BetMGM sportsbooks told the Post that bets on Barkley as any-time touchdown scorer were the most bets on the market among Sunday's three games.

For BetMGM Sportsbook, Barkley scoring a touchdown was also the most bet on touchdown scorer.

Even if it was the right play, a lot of people wouldn't have been happy at the end of the game.”
