Saquon Barkley shown in full Eagles uniform for first time

For Giants fans, it just got even tougher to watch their biggest rival team.

On Thursday afternoon, the Eagles posted a video of former Giants running back Saquon Barkley in their midnight green and white uniforms.

Despite the new uniform, Barkley kept some typical accessories, such as the visor and black left arm sleeve.

Eagles fans got their first look at Barkley’s new uniform on April 15 when the team began its offseason training program, but it wasn’t his actual game jersey.

Barkley, who spent the first six seasons of his NFL career in New York, signed a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the NFC East rival this offseason, making him the fourth-highest-paid running back in the NBA by average annual salary.

Barkley returned to Pennsylvania, where he attended high school and college, because he was drawn to the team’s fundamental characteristics.

“If you watch from afar, you can see everything they’re doing.” Berkeley explained in March.“The culture here, the fans here. It was definitely super exciting.”

Giants fans are understandably upset about the move, but Eagles coach Nick Sirianni seems to be relishing the role of the bad guy.

“Sometimes I see Giants fans around here and they call out to me, ‘Go Giants!'” Sirianni said in early June.“I usually just let it go, but if they catch me well enough I usually say, ‘I’ve got the best guy!'”

Barkley and the Birds open the season on Sept. 6 in Brazil against the Packers.

The running back’s first game against the Giants will come in Week 7 at MetLife Stadium in what will surely be a hostile environment.
