Savannah Guthrie Says She Is Prepared to Pay Ransom for Nancy Guthrie's Safe Return

Statement Made Regarding Abducted Mother

Savannah Guthrie made a heartfelt statement directed at her mother’s abductors on Saturday, expressing her willingness to pay for Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.

“We got your message, and we understand it,” Savannah shared in a video alongside her siblings, Annie and Cameron. “Please return my mother to us now so we can celebrate together.”

She added, “This is the only way we can achieve peace.” Savannah emphasized the significance of Nancy’s return, indicating, “This is something of great value to us, and we will pay for it.”

Nancy, who is 84, was reportedly taken from her home against her will and has not been contacted since January 31st. Bloodstains discovered on the doorstep have been confirmed to belong to her, and the family noted that she depends on daily medication to live. Sadly, her medications and personal belongings remained at her home.

On February 7, Savannah publicly indicated for the first time her intention to meet the ransom demands. TMZ has stated that the amount being asked is in the millions and that payment is requested via cryptocurrency, specifically to Bitcoin addresses. Concern for Nancy’s safety intensified when the initial deadline outlined in the ransom note was missed, along with a subsequent deadline of February 9, suggesting a mounting sense of urgency.

On February 6, reports surfaced that a second message from the suspects had been released by a local news outlet, CNN affiliate KOLD. The FBI has also announced a reward of $50,000 for credible information regarding the case.
