School Resource Officer Removed for Inappropriate Comments
A school resource officer (SRO) from a prominent suburban district in New York has been removed from her position due to inappropriate social media remarks about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a notable conservative figure and founder of Turning Point USA.
This week, screenshots of several comments made by Slotanisha Blanche, who was assigned to Summers Middle School and worked for the Westchester County Police Department, surfaced online. In these posts, she seemed to express a troubling attitude towards Kirk’s death.
One comment included Kirk’s video alongside a disturbing remark: “The white sniper was overqualified when he placed that hole around his neck.”
In another post, Blanche allegedly wrote, “Is this someone crying on my feed? Get life.”
Additionally, other comments appeared to reference the locations of related incidents of violence.
Given the gravity of the situation, Blanche has been removed from her school duties while an investigation is underway. A spokesperson for the Westchester County Police Department confirmed that she would now only perform administrative tasks.
Adam Bronstein, the principal of Summers Middle School, addressed the situation in a letter to parents, calling Blanche’s comments “completely unacceptable” and indicative of “praises violence.” The incident, as reported by other outlets, has caused significant backlash.
In response to the incident, Bronstein reassured parents that another SRO would be assigned to the school, emphasizing the importance of safety in the program. Communication with the police will be maintained to ensure the program’s continuity and security.
As of now, none of the involved parties, including the Summers Central School District, Blanche, or Bronstein, have publicly commented further on the situation.
