Schumer Celebrates McConnell on Senate Immigration Plan

As Breitbart News reported on Sunday, the newly revealed bill included several concessions on border security, along with other obvious red flags.

The bill’s authors have kept much of its content hidden, and it also includes numerous loopholes, exceptions, amendments, and caveats that could turn apparent restrictions into government-funded welcomes. The bill was put together behind closed doors by a close circle of establishment advocates and their corporate donors. They include Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who are negotiating the plan with the White House. He appointed three senators to do so.

The three senators are Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Iowa-Ariz.). The White House was advised by Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s pro-immigration border director. Mr. Mayorkas is a seasoned lawyer who has exploited numerous loopholes in border law, arguing that the immigration crush would be easier to control if immigrants were allowed to enter the country through legal channels. He also argued that Americans have a moral obligation to welcome immigrants and that Americans “need” more immigrant labor to fill jobs created by investors.

The bill is likely to pass the U.S. Senate, but it will have a hard time passing the Republican-controlled House. Speaker Mike Johnson voiced his opposition Sunday, saying it would be “dead on arrival.”

“We’ve seen enough. This bill is even worse than we expected and will come far from ending the border disaster the president has wrought.” As the Democratic chief negotiator declared, Under the bill, “the border will never close.” “If this bill reaches the House, it will be dead on arrival,” Johnson said.
