Democrats are on the rise.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer faces backlash over his decision on a continuing resolution.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) faces more calls to aside than previously reported.
…
Councilman Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) nodded her head and said “Yes” at City Hall on Tuesday, asking if Schumer would “retire or resign.” Ramirez's comments have not been reported previously.
The liberal group is also calling on Schumer to step down as leader. Rep. Glenn Evie, D-MD., also filed a lawsuit at City Hall on Tuesday.
One House Democrat asked if it could continue, telling Axios:
Nancy Pelosi also told Schumer, “I personally don't give anything and I don't give anything… I think that's what happened the other day.”
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi provided insightful criticism of Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday, suggesting that she confiscated a key negotiation tip by voting for a Republican government fundraising bill.
“I personally don't give anything for anything,” Pelosi told reporters at a press conference at a Children's Hospital in San Francisco. “I think that's what happened the other day.”
…
“In my opinion, I could have made them agree to a third method,” Pelosi said. She said the potential outcome could have been a bipartisan, continuing resolution to delay the shutdown for up to four weeks while negotiations continued.
She said, “They may not have agreed to that, but at least the public would have seen them not agree to it — and they would have shut down the government.”
The Democrats are falling apart.
