Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent on Tuesday said the Internal Revenue Service whistleblower who spoke in the Hunter Biden incident was hired as a senior adviser to the Treasury Department.
“We are pleased to be welcomed by the Treasury Department and to help promote much-needed cultural reform within the IRS,” Bescent said in writing.
“These veteran civil servants will join us in focusing and promoting government organisational collection, modernization and customer service, ensuring that we provide a more effective and efficient IRS experience for American taxpayers. We appreciate the efforts of Senator Grassley's pastors to help protect whistleblowers to improve transparency, accountability and responsibility.”
The Trump administration recently announced efforts to modernize the IRS operations.
Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler spent years claiming that the Biden administration wanted an effort to investigate alleged tax and gun violations committed by President Joe Biden, the son of President Joe Biden.
Breitbart News wrote in 2023:
Speaking to Bret Baier on Fox News Channel's Special Report, Shapley said one of the biggest challenges investigating Hunter Biden is not being able to ask about “Big Guy.”
“One of the core of the problem here is that we weren't allowed to ask questions about what we were going to add. We weren't allowed to ask about the 'big ',” he said. “We were not allowed to include requests for specific names and documents and search warrants, which prevented us from following the lines of that question.”
“We were doing Hunter Biden's investigation and were trying to follow the normal process,” he added. “There is definitely a barrier that I have never seen before regarding this investigation that has failed to follow other individual investigations to include President Biden.”
Ziegler revealed in 2021 that FBI prosecutors drafted a memo recommending Hunter Biden be charged with multiple felony and misdemeanors.
“In August 2022, we called all the prosecutors assigned to us and said all four of us were recommending felony and misdemeanor tax approval,” Ziegler said in 2023.
In June 2023, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to two federal tax violations and one gun possession violation.
During the decline of his administration, President Biden forgives the Hunter for the crime he “may have committed, committed or participated during the period from January 1, 2014 to December 1, 2024.”
