NFL Draft Highlights Awaited by Scott Hanson

NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson is predicting some excitement during the first round of Thursday night’s NFL Draft. He noted that while it’s pretty much certain that Fernando Mendoza will be picked first overall by the Las Vegas Raiders, there’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the rest of the draft.

“As we speak, there are six teams holding two first-round picks. I don’t believe all six will choose in those twelve spots. I expect we’ll see trades—some teams moving up and others moving back. There’s a lot of draft capital in play. Both teams from New York are part of that mix, as well as Jerry Jones’s Cowboys. It should be quite chaotic all night,” Hanson remarked, hinting at a thrilling atmosphere during the event.

The six teams with multiple first-round picks include the New York Jets (2nd and 16th overall), New York Giants (5th and 10th), Cleveland Browns (6th and 24th), Kansas City Chiefs (9th and 29th), Miami Dolphins (11th and 30th), and Dallas Cowboys (12th and 20th).

Interestingly, Mendoza is currently the only quarterback confirmed to be selected in the first round. Meanwhile, Alabama’s Ty Simpson is projected to go somewhere towards the end of the first round or into the second round on Friday.

Though focused on the unpredictability of the draft, Hanson took a moment to acknowledge Mendoza’s achievements over the past year, emphasizing the significance of his journey. “It’s pretty obvious that Mendoza will be the number one pick—he’s earned it with accolades like winning the Heisman. That’s a remarkable feat and a big deal in recent college football history.”

On another note, Lowe’s has contributed to the draft’s atmosphere by constructing the NFL Draft Green Room, which features various items available for fans to buy online.

As the excitement builds, many are eager to see how Thursday night will unfold and how trades will shake up the draft landscape.
