Scott Jennings Looks Surprised By CNN Panelist's Support For Biden Regarding Inflation

Discussion on Inflation and Economic Policies

Scott Jennings, a host on the Salem Radio Network, appeared taken aback on Monday when podcaster Emma Vigeland described the inflation seen during the Biden presidency as “natural.” This conversation followed President Trump’s announcement on November 14 regarding the suspension of tariffs on some imported food items, which he attributed to positive developments in trade talks with various nations. On Tuesday, during his remarks about economic initiatives in Pennsylvania, Jennings pointed out that inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), has soared under Biden, peaking at 9% in June 2022.

“But why revert to the people with shovels digging holes?” Jennings asked. Vigeland replied, saying, “I’d like to highlight that the inflation under the Biden administration was partially organic, stemming from supply chain issues and the COVID-19 pandemic, which is an extraordinary event.”

Jennings then responded with a somewhat unclear comment about “nature, like in a tree?” Vigeland clarified, “Yes, but no; it’s more about the supply chain bottlenecks. That’s what I mean. There was a lack of labor—”

President Biden has enacted multiple spending initiatives totaling around $1.9 trillion. While there are concerns, as noted by some experts, this could potentially trigger further inflation.

“A policy choice was made,” Jennings reiterated to Vigeland. “A policy choice was made.”

On another note, the White House highlighted a drop in gas prices, indicating that the average price is under $3 per gallon in 37 states, with 22 of those states costing less than $2.75 per gallon—the lowest it’s been in nearly five years, according to Gas Buddy.

Currently, President Trump’s approval rating concerning his economic management hovers around 40.6%, as reported by RealClearPolling.
