Scott Jennings Uses A Four-Letter Word After Democratic Rep Claims Illegals Don't Use Medicaid

Republican Strategist Calls Out Democrat Over Medicaid Claims

Scott Jennings, a Republican strategist, labeled New York Democrat Richie Torres a “liar” during a CNN segment on Wednesday night. This confrontation arose when Torres claimed that illegal immigrants would not be eligible for Medicaid.

According to a statement from the House Budget Committee on June 24, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has reported that around 1.4 million undocumented immigrants will be excluded from the program following a settlement bill signed on July 4 by President Donald Trump. Jennings referenced this, asserting that reforms to the qualification process are not only popular but necessary to prioritize those in real need and discourage welfare benefits for illegal immigrants.

“It seems reasonable to rework the program to make sure it serves the right people while also encouraging work,” Jennings argued.

In the ongoing exchange, Jennings maintained that federal law prohibits undocumented immigrants from receiving these benefits, pressing Torres on the existence of 1.4 million individuals still enrolled. Torres quickly dismissed Jennings’ claims, retorting, “That’s what your imagination looks like.”

“That’s based on the CBO’s documentation,” Jennings countered sharply as the discussion became more heated. Torres attempted to clarify the facts but was met with Jennings’ insistence, saying, “You’re lying, you’re literally lying.” Torres countered with, “No, that’s not true.”

Jennings reaffirmed his stance despite attempts from CNN Newsnight host Abby Phillip to mediate. “A lie,” he repeated, calling Torres a “liar.”

The settlement package, which Trump had enacted in 2017, notably cut back subsidies for green energy programs. Some experts on the left have suggested that recent legislative moves imply preparations for the upcoming 2026 midterm elections.

Texas Republican Rep. Geordy Arlington expressed support for the new legislation, stating in an interview that the changes would benefit Americans. “It’s great because it allows people to keep more of their money,” he said. “After the cost-of-living difficulties we’ve faced, folks really need that extra support to manage their bills and care for their families.”
