After one of golf's most historic seasons in 2024, 2025 won't be the ideal start for Scottie Scheffler.
The current PGA Player of the Year and No. 1 golfer in the world will miss next week's Sentry Tournament after undergoing hand surgery.
In a statement released Friday, Scheffler's manager, Blake Smith, said Scheffler “suffered a stab wound to his right hand” while preparing dinner on Christmas Day. said.

“A small piece of glass remained in my palm and required surgery. I was told I should be back to 100% in three to four weeks,” Smith said, adding that Scheffler has officially withdrawn from Sentry. He added that he did.
Scheffler's next scheduled tournament is the American Express, which begins on January 16th. This year's Sentry is being named the signature event as it is the first of eight tournaments.
