All those who have the privilege of returning to Augusto at Augusta National Out-Out have their annual tradition.
CBS Sports' Gymnanz hops to the golf cart, heads to the Amen Corner, and reminds us that we are grateful for the opportunity to win one of the most beautiful places in the world and call it a “traditional tradition.”
For Scotty Scheffler, the world's number one, having won two of the last three masters, his annual customization revolves around his family and close friends.
Every year, on the Sunday before Tournament Week, the former champion is proud to invite guests to participate in the practice round. Last year, Schaeffler asked his sisters to join him. This year, his mother will accompany him.
“On the day, go back to master and enjoy the memories, enjoy yourself with family and close friends, enjoy the golf course and enjoy the day before you start working on Monday,” Schaeffler said Wednesday.
“I'm trying to get everything out of the way on Sunday and get all the lore and everything that comes with being at Augusta National.
But before he does that, Schaeffler passes the awards with drives, chips and putts. The event features young girls and boys, between the ages of 7 and 15, compete in four separate age groups. Test your driving accuracy, chipping and putting skills while inspiring the next generation in the day. Last year, Akshay Bhatia became the first player to compete in both drives, chips, putts and the tournament itself.
“It's always fun for me and it's fun that Augusta National does,” added Schaeffler.
